At the end of this procedure, the nas couldn't be seen by raidar and i couldn't power it off using the power button (the leds were on and stable). So i unplugged the nas and did a reset at the restart but the leds stayed off like it's said on the faq :

The flashing amber I thought was the status, was the LAN LED (looking at the front panel with better lighting now). I guess I can try the firmware recovery and see what happens. When the unit is turned on, the disk station has 4 solid orange lights and a flash blue light (power button). This continues for about 5 minutes and then the unit shuts down. Cannot login from PC nor cannot start up the disk station. No green LED lights come on anymore.

Usually you logon to the nas via its ip address which bring up a web page asking for the admin credencials. Once you logon you can configure the users/your access as well as the shares.
