WebMay 22, 2007 · Tausig tragically died young from Typhoid, just before his 30th birthday, and in my opinion he hadn't quite matured as a composer or transcriber. At a later age Tausig might have reworked these pieces, picking up on Liszt's habit of reworking compositions later and improving them.
